Equipment Operator
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy machinery for construction, utility, or site development projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience, follows safety protocols, and can work efficiently in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, and backhoes
- Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and site preparation
- Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and utility markings
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
- Work with crew members to complete projects on time and within scope
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and work performed
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, but not necessary)
- Knowledge of construction practices and site safety requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and grade stakes preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work in various weather and physical conditions
Preferred Skills
- Experience with underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)
- GPS/machine control experience
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Ability to perform minor equipment repairs
